The Pastoral Care Team
The purpose of this group of people is to work with and assist the Vicar in delivering
supportive pastoral care within the worshipping community. This support may take
the form of home or hospital visiting for those in need; providing Holy Communion
within parishioners’ own homes, or residential care homes; assisting in the preparation
for Holy Baptism and Christian Marriage and finally, as some members of the team
have experience of assisting people at the difficult time of bereavement and loss,
help to run a support group for those with this particular need at Church Croft on
the first Thursday afternoon of each month. Working with the Vicar the team’s involvement
with parishioners will be primarily through concern, friendship, prayer and practical
help, always being mindful of respecting an individual’s right to privacy and confidentiality.
