Our main objective is to provide tastefully arranged flowers which enhance the beauty of our church. They give pleasure to those who regularly worship at St. Bartholomew’s and also the many visitors we welcome.  It is purely voluntary and self funded by members. Many people like to remember special anniversaries and birthdays of loved ones and arrange their flowers to coincide with the dates that are special to them.

 

We have about thirty members, so on average we have to do the flowers about six times a year.  We are always happy to welcome new members as this helps to spread the financial costs.

 

We have ‘Coffee Mornings’ etc. occasionally to raise funds. This helps with the purchase of the oasis.  We also have a ‘Flower Festival’ about every five years. This is great fun for the Guild, as we all work very happily together, but is also very hard work.  The event brings great pleasure to the many visitors, who enter the Church and great satisfaction to the many ladies who put so much time and effort into the wonderful arrangements.
