The band members are of mixed ages and we practice on a Monday evening from 7:30 pm until 9:00 pm. There is a core band of 12 and our current focus is to recruit more members. New members must be willing to commit to it since it can take some time to learn.

The band have achieved Quarter Peals a number of times through the year.

The Tower is a member of the Calne Branch of The Salisbury Diocesan Guild of Ringers.

Bell Ringers

The main reason for ringing bells is of course to call people to church and we ring for Sunday services, weddings and special occasions.

St. Bartholomew’s has a peal of 8 bells, the earliest dating back to 1633. The Tenor is the heaviest bell and weighs 19 cwt - just under a ton.
