JUNE.

This month a very pleasant evening was spent at the North Star College. We enjoyed an evening dinner cooked by the catering students. The menu was varied, quite extensive and imaginative. I don't think anyone was disappointed with their choices. The students doing "the front of house" were very pleasant, professional and attentive and we could also see what was happening in the kitchen courtesy of a large screen on the wall televising them, (no finger licking or tasting spoons going from one pot to another!) They alternate their roles doing the cooking and front of house. It was also good to chat with the chefs for that evening when they escaped from the kitchen and came round the tables, and it was good to hear that most of the students had jobs to go to. The bar was open so it was nice to be able to have an aperitif and a glass of wine with our meal. It was a an extremely good value evening, £12 for a three course meal and a cup of coffee. We shall certainly be going there again.

In July we are back to normal procedure, Holy Communion in the Church at 7.15pm followed by a talk by Mr R Scamones on making Miniature Musical Instruments which should be very interesting. This will be in the Church Hall. Come and join us !
