MU last month:

At the afternoon meeting, generously hosted by Mary, members enjoyed Pat Greenslade’s interesting, thought-provoking talk about Water, such a precious vital commodity.. We appreciate the insights that Pat shares at these very pleasant afternoon sessions that enable us - especially less mobile members - to keep in touch.

Our evening meeting, with Liz’s Quiz, was great fun, with plenty of laughter and friendly competition between teams of four. Many thanks are due to Liz Reeves for compiling the six rounds and posing the questions. Topics were Current Affairs, Well Known People, General Knowledge, Literature, Music and Art. Geography and Famous Siblings.

There were no prizes to be won, just the pleasure of a thoroughly entertaining evening, in which the top scorers, Foskett’s Follies, had 54 and a half; Paradise Lost , with 50, were second, and the others were runners-up. Rose Marshall won the raffle.

Anyone (including friends) who would like to join in the MU Evening Out on July 20, must notify menu choice to Astrid or Stella in the first week of July, please. If you need a menu, please let us know! .
