If you live in Wootton Bassett then you and your children are entitled to be Baptized (Christened) in the Parish Church. The ceremony will be conducted by a member of the Clergy after an initial meeting and will be followed by invitations and welcomes to such events as Toddler Praise and the monthly All Age Eucharist, and the worshipping community remembers those recently baptized on their Birthday and on the Anniversary of their Baptism.
There is no obligation to share in any of these events but they are an important reminder to those coming or bringing children for baptism, and to those who attend church regularly, that baptism is not something that happens on the sidelines of the church but is fundamental to our common life.
It is through baptism that a person is marked as belonging to Jesus Christ; it is in baptism that we become a member of the Church of God. We take baptism very seriously and will make every effort to ensure you feel welcomed.
