Gift Aid - George Tuckett

For a number of years I have been involved with organising regular giving, by the congregation, to the Church. Since the introduction of Gift Aid, which replaced Covenanting - schemes whereby donors who pay income tax enable the Church to reclaim from the Revenue & Customs the tax that has been paid on the sums given - the task has become much simpler.

People who sign up for Gift Aid can donate to the Church in weekly envelopes, by cheque or bank standing order and so increase the value of their donation. My task is to record, weekly, amounts given through Gift Aid to the Church and, twice a year, to reclaim from H.M.R.& C. the tax that has been paid on the global sum.

Envelopes are available in Church for visitors and others who want to donate when visiting or on special occasions. I normally pass the global sum total to another Church member who takes care of the claiming procedure. The amounts given by individuals are kept strictly confidential.

Anyone interested in giving regularly to St. Bartholomew's Church, Wootton Bassett, by any of the above methods, whether or not you sign up for Gift Aid, should contact me personally or via the Church Office:
